In February, A&F Co. honored Black History Month with the overarching theme of Celebrating Black Excellence: Empowerment through Creativity and Wellness. Throughout the month, associates and customers were given numerous ways to celebrate Black excellence with us, including Abercrombie & Fitch’s updated Volume 28 collection.
This year’s Volume 28 collection was designed in partnership with Marshall Danzy, founder of Danzy Design Studio and Raise Fashion, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving BIPOC fashion designers. The collection was designed with a vision that invites customers into an immersive world – Danzy Estates, with the intention of creating timeless pieces that promote black excellence and celebrate black talent through a variety of smart staple items with a nod to retro sportswear.
Marshall Danzy, alongside Felita Harris of Raise Fashion, joined an A&F Co. led panel to share their experiences of working with Abercrombie to bring the designs to life. Danzy emphasized the importance of creating a capsule that’s experiential. Passion. Purpose. Authentic. Imagination. These are a few of the words the designers used to describe the collaboration between A&F, Danzy and Raise Fashion. It was evident that the audience felt it too.
