Tell us about your role and what you are responsible for at A&F Co.
My role is to protect the company’s assets along with preventing loss. I am in the field supporting about 27 stores across five different states. I get to work alongside store district managers and teach store associates how they impact operational, external and internal losses. Yes, I also apprehend shoplifters.
What has your career path been so far?
I joined A&F Co. about three years ago; however, I started my career in Asset Protection when I was only 18. I have always had an itch for Criminal Justice and figured AP would be a great start to build those outside partnerships. Little did I know that AP would become my career path for the next 17+ years.
What does success look like in your job?
To me, it’s keeping our teams and customers safe while in our buildings! Yes, of course, consistently decreasing shrink is also success. However, when a solid foundation has been built, and our teams know how to react and what to do during a crisis, that is success to me.
If you weren’t doing this, what other job or role would you love to pursue?
If I wasn’t doing AP, I would totally be teaching at an elementary school. As a child it was my dream to become a teacher. Luckily, I have two little nieces that have many years of me helping them with their homework. Although, in this role I’d like to say I do a lot of teaching, so it’s a win-win!
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Ah, so many things! During weekends, you can either find me out trying a new restaurant with my best friends OR on the couch with my dog Bailey, reading a psychological thriller. If on PTO, just know I’m on a flight to collect new memories!
